Okay, last week I promised y’all a post every Tuesday, and I also said I’d let you know why Tuesdays are the greatest. So, here I am to fulfill both those promises. (I know. I’m kinda impressed with myself, too! Eeep!)

So. (Sorry, Bob. I know you hate starting sentences with “So.” Or one-word sentences. Hey, look. I did both! Can we still be friends?) SO … If I could go back in history, I’m betting I could prove the best things were created on Tuesdays: sweet tea, the first cat, pizza, the brainstorm of some amazing TV shows (West Wing, Friends)… But since I can’t prove it, you’ll just have to take my word for it.

Aside from the screaming inaccuracies above, here are eight true things that make Tuesdays great:

Songs about Tuesday are happier than songs about Monday. But don’t take my word for it:  Manic Monday or Groovy Tuesday? You decide.

I was born on a Tuesday. Fun Fact: I share a birthday with Wyatt Earp, although his was on a Sunday, and Bruce Willis, who was born on a Saturday.

It’s the farthest you’ll be from the next Monday. Did someone say Pollyanna?

It’s one day closer to the weekend than that dreaded Monday. That is, if you honor the traditional weekend.

Tacos. ‘Nuff said.
IMPROMPTU READER POLL: Street taco or hard shell?

Gibbs. Insert dreamy heart eyes here! I mean, I can’t be the only one who’s spent an average of 22 Tuesday evenings a year for the past 18 years with the man. And that’s not counting the anytime-binge-watching that may or may not *coughcoughdefinitelydoescoughcough* occur at the New Bedford Manor.

It’s the most productive day of the week for employees. Huh. #truestory

Shrove (Fat) Tuesday. C’mon. You’ve been around me long enough to know we’re talking about the end of Mardi Gras and the beginning of Lent. Did you honestly think I would/could leave this out?

And, for that lagniappe (li’l sumpin extra) y’all deserve: New writers tend to start writing their novel on a Tuesday, having procrastinated over the weekend and talked themselves back into creativity on Monday. I kid you not: NOLA was started on a Tuesday.

YOUR TUESDAY TURN! Drop a comment and tell me what your favorite day of the week is, and why!
